Her Distraction

by Cuddles   Feb 1, 2006

She laughs so hard water runs from her eyes.
Her face starts turning red.
Inside she's burning with infinite pain.
She almost wishes that she were dead.

She never seems to have a care in the world,
but I can see her soul.
She is me when I can't show who I really am-
broken pieces needing to be made whole.

I can feel how much she hurts.
Her tears are my tears.
When she's scared to let anybody get too close,
she is experiencing my fears.

She holds her friends at arm's length,
though it gives her no satisfaction.
She only lets them closer when thoughts become too much.
They are just a distraction.

A distraction from the "real" in reality-
that's what has become of her friends.
She seeks only to enjoy their company,
but a distraction they must remain until her sorrows end.

Pretty good pretty good but the ending needs to be a little stronger. I do the same thing but still you did a good job. It was really interesting and from the heart.
