To be labeled as a cutter

by sara   Feb 1, 2006

To be labeled as a cutter
or the high school basketball star
for every point that you make
leads to one more scar
to be labeled as a cutter
or the honor student in your class
every A that you receive
leads to a heart like shattered glass
to be labeled as a cutter
or the nicest person in town
every wave you get along the street
brings you only more down
to be labeled as a cutter
isn't really all that bad
it doesn't seem to hurt anyone else
or make them all that sad
to be labeled as a cutter
is something that i will regret
but right now that doesn't matter
these scars represent something i will never forget
because ill never forget my daddy or the friends that have left footprints on my life
ill never forget the pain that they caused
when i took to my skin a knife
ill never forget the tears that i cried
as i cried myself to sleep at night
when i cut way down deep
and how it gave me such a fright
ill never forget how everyone pushed me
to be the one and only best
but ill never forget how hard i pushed
to lay my life to rest.
