The Forest's Cradle

by The Wingless   Feb 3, 2006

They're deep...

Deep in the forest at night,
Dancing the dance,
They laugh,
Whispering to each other,
Hands clasped together,
Just like they do,
Their eyes don't hide secrets,
What are they searching for?
Their song,
Starts to make some sense,
Only if you listen.

Dance...

Dance like the butterflies,
Shadows suddenly appear,
Right before my own eyes,
There are sounds,
Echoing the absurd,
Hard to explain,
Exactly what I head.

Sing...

Sing like the crickets,
Looking at the flowers,
Hidden deep within the thickets,
I don't know what they are,
Hiding the mistakes,
Shadowing the past,
Covering up the aches.

Now...

Now hear the forest singing,
Full of the insects and birds,
Scent of soil and animal,
Breathe life into the animal you hide,
All it is, is an illusion,
No one ever knows,
When you are alone,
Why you feel the eyes,
Of someone looking at you.

Again...

Again see them play,
The pale moon light up the trees,
The feet of the Forest,
Innocent and rustling the leaves,
Playful, harmless, fantasies...
