Footprints in the Snow

The greatest man I know
I call him Dad
His understanding of life
Is something I have never had

I search my heart
To try and find
His patience, his love
And his peace of mind

He takes long walks
To clear his head
To self analyze
All that he has said

I often wonder
What he thinks of me
Am I the son
He envisioned me to be

The meaning of life
I may never know
But I'll follow his footprints
His footprints in the snow
