Winter Wish

by The Wingless   Feb 5, 2006

I carefully,
Kept a shred,
of happiness,
Warm,
But when I thought,
About what it was,
I started to ache.

Everything I thought I knew,
You eyes, Your voice,
Everything,
Was so precious to me,
But no longer.

The snow that fell,
Fell down on my face,
Melted, and became my tears,
I wanted you to stay by me forever,
Never letting go of my hand,
The stars that shine in the winter sky,
Would have kept us warm,

Cold-White shoulders,
Cold-White breath,
I made a winter wish tonight.

The faraway ocean,
And your fleeting love,
Are painful.

The beginning of a life,
On a snowy winter eve,
We walked side by side,
Footprints leading to the future,
Warmth and kindness,
They disappeared when you left.

Cold...White shoulders,
Cold...White breath,
I made a winter wish tonight.
