ALONE

by LockedInEternity   Feb 7, 2006

The treachery of loneliness.
The ice rain cuts her skin.
When no ones there,
The ugliness steps out of beauty’s rim.

The endless days,
She tries to count.
The endless hours spent alone.
So many ways,
To search and scout,
So many minutes sat at home.

When she has no one’s love to wrap her,
And no one’s hand to hold,
She tells herself that she is loved,
When feelings deep,
Can’t be consoled.

She tries to cheer up,
Tries to jump,
But lying only to herself.
She cannot live inside this dump,
The soul she long left on that shelf.

Her life was glamor,
All was swell.
She had a soul mate,
Family.
But all of that had turned to hell.
And loneliness was all that be.

With no one’s smile to make her laugh,
With no one’s lips to kiss,
She sees as her heart rips in half.
Her aim,
A simple miss.

The summer of her discontent,
The spring, the winter, and the fall.
The lonely days that she had spent,
It’s now she saw,
That she lost all!

The loneliness,
It drills through her.
The pain she feels,
It spread.
The loving feeling she once had,
Had gone away,
As she had bled.

Forever she’ll remember,
The way she felt when all alone,
All the contempt,
She had to render.
The scorn, the sorrow,
Cold as stone.

With no one’s competence to lead her,
And no one’s soothing words.
The loneliness had gotten to her.
Her tension now,
Among the birds.
