A Man (revised)

by Alexis   Feb 10, 2006

Peace that consumed, hope that overflowed
People that were healed, lives were touched
Words that spoke, his guarantees never broke.
Men that He led, but was still betrayed to the most
The ultimate sacrifice, His life they chose
Whips that cracked, guards that laughed
Sacrifice that hurt, blood that flowed
Nails that pierced, thorns that drove
A cross was built
The crown was placed
The Son of God was disgraced.
Beaten, broken and forsaken, He was alone
But with His last breath, He saved my soul
A man He hung, he took my place
So full of sin, but so full of grace
man died, He hung for me
A man who died so I could be free
An innocent man hung in this sinners place
A man who died to give amazing grace
