Old friend

Talked to an old friend the other day
it made me cry what he did say;
its so sad how his life has changed
hes setting himself up to be shot at free range;
he has now gotten into drugs
and started hanging with a bunch of thugs;
i feel so bad for him now
i wish i could help him somehow;
next thing you know he'll be sleeping around
making himself look like a huge clown;
hes gonna end up with a kid while hes still in high school
so sad it is, hes making himself look like a fool;
when we were young, he said he'd never do that
now just look at where he's at;
times have changed since we were young
the drugs will leave him with one blackened lung;
he chose to go down the wrong path
now hes gotta deal with the after math.
