Inside

by Bilquis   Feb 12, 2006

As my spirit fled to fly
From my body to the sky
I opened my heart and closed my eyes
And found a whole new world inside
Where I met a girl whose smile was bright
As the full moon on a dark starless night
And she was dancing with the wind
Leaving visible traces of joy behind
I followed her steps and slipped into
A fairytale where wishes come true
Where the air was heavy from the scent of dreams
And lights of hope everywhere gleamed
In this unreal world I was meant to find
The long lost treasures of my mind
It seems the girl has led me here
To remove all my foolish fears
To show me that mean earthly things
Can never break my spirit's wings
And that in case I need a home
I will have one inside my soul
This simple lesson a girl taught me
And as I looked closer I could see
That this girl whom I just got to know
Is the girl I was many years ago.
