Friend To Friend

Friendship is one word that means the world to me.
We base it on laughs, trust, and honesty.
No one's perfect,
but we still try.
We can't promise not to hurt each other,
not to hold things back or not to make each other cry.
So I'm telling you my thoughts and how I feel.
I won't hold anything back.
You're my friend and you deserve to know the truth.
I at least owe you that.
You should know that your crush is my crush, too.
Looks like we fell for the same guy.
We see the same things in him,
so now at least you know why.
I didn't mean for it to happen,
but it did and I won't say I'm sorry.
However if you really want to make a go for him,
I'm woman enough not to stand in your way.
I won't wish bad luck on you,
but what if he chooses me?
Would you be happy for us?
Would you be able to set him free?
However it turns out,
our friendship we must sever.
So can you promise me one thing?
No matter what happens can we be friends forever?
