Life's Lessons

by Bill Turner   Feb 14, 2006

Life has taught me many a lesson
All of them coming at some price
Wrong end of a Smith & Wesson
That ditty happened twice

Be careful of the company you keep
As there woes can become your own
Watch were you lay your head to sleep
Lest you want to bleed and moan

That seems simple you say
It is not always so
As you head out for your day
You just never know

Honor, dignity and character came later in life
After all the hard lessons had been learned
I no longer live with self imposed strife
Not after all the times I have been burned

Live, laugh and love each and every day
Be a good soul and touch those you know
Live like there is no other way
Feel your worth, dignity and soul grow

A reasonable poem, good message but look up some definitions of words before you use them so the sentence makes sense, i.e. lest
