You, Me, and the Rain

by Elyse H.   Feb 16, 2006

This night is cold my friend
By the look in your eyes
I can feel your heart start to bend
The rain can be so blinding sometimes

Adjust your trust to what prevails beyond sorrow
So clear, so frail
It won't be long before you taste the wine
Something sweet to numb the bitter

My blood flows slow for you
and evades the troubles of your waters
I'll hold your head up when it starts to fall
Cause I've treaded that ocean many times before

Though I took a different route
callousness by others is to blame
for the shame we harbor
