The lighthouse of past and present

The Lighthouse of Past and Present
You can see the beautiful, warm days
And the many deep dark nights
The sun rays coming down, the scent of summer flowing through the air
Laying down watching the stars, feeling the calm breeze in your hair
Remembering the spring mornings with the God sent dew in the fresh grass
Pondering about the cold fall nights, when you went to see the football fights

Standing atop the Lighthouse of the Past & Present
You see where you\'ve been, you see how it\'s made who you are today

The days in the park, you didn\'t have any cares
Nights with that special someone, discussions where you found more of you, and the meaning of \"us\"
Things were going great, then it rained on your parade
You couldn\'t sleep, Mother Nature was giving a gift of lights
Watching planes flying through whites fluffy masses, wishing you where there
With friends around a campfire, wanting to be like the smoke, vanishing into the unknown

It\'s atop the Lighthouse of Past & Present where we find ourselves
We take what we\'ve learned and choose, hoping to be that bright beacon of light for those coming in
