Ghosts of Times

by LadyPearl   Feb 27, 2006

Empty inside my soul and heart
Corrupted images in my thoughts
A ghost of time I seek deliverance
Chained to the world's ignorance

Once cunning and filled with pride
Now living a shattered broken life
Like a tattered rose on a table
The base of sanity is unstable

Confined to the fires of reality
Consumed by dreams of fantasy
A condition of self-illusions
longing for pure imagination

Obeying, bending, to laws of past
Bare-footed servant to come last
Shredded to pieces of dust
Destroying old unbounded trust

A shadow in the midst of death
A reaper of one's final breath
Living in darkness, in it's fear
Walking in a child's nightmare

*sighs* I can relate to this poem, lol. It's very well written, even though some lines seem cliche (1 is the most cliche I believe). But that doesn't matter because the rest of it is pure orginality and well written.

    Good job,
