Broken Mirror

by The Wingless   Feb 28, 2006

Run through the coldest nights
With passion burning in your heart
Fight if you must hold a knife by your side
Be a proud wolf alone in the night
Eyes that watch the world
And movement like a shadow
On the face of the blank side of the moon

Broken mirror, a million colors of light
The old echo faded
But just you and I
Can find the answer
And run to the end of the world
Wherever that might be

Cold winds hold my heart
In the blue of a night
Pulled by this pain
Words come out as paint

Broken mirror, a million colors of light
The old echo faded
But just you and I
Can find the answer
And run to the end of the world
Wherever that might be

Meeting in the mist of morning
Parting in the deep of night
Broken sword
Dented shield
Tears that run through the heart
Washed away by the water
Different types of feelings
Is it peace?

Broken mirror, a million colors of light
The old echo faded
But just you and I
Can find the answer
And run to the end of the world
Wherever that might be

I like the structure and your use of repetition, it makes for an effective and emotional poem. Some wonderful expressions here, well done.
