River of Life

Softly it starts
all on it's own
barley there
not yet grown

the musical hum
becomes a tinkle
soft sweet melody
it's surface to twinkle

asserting it's skills
it's begins turning
laughing out loud
dipping and churning

it bubbles along
but soon discovers
it's road blocked
by some others

undaunted it spins
never glancing back
joins their journey
company it doesn't lack

without even a warning
large rocks loom ahead
it struggles against the flow
but the currents been fed

it keeps pushing
until they're upon it
tossed and turned
it's tested to fit

when it's unbearable
the burdens depart
it heaves a sigh
as it begins to dart

what's it doing?
giggling as it goes
the river of life
is the only one who knows
