Pessimist vs. Optimist

by out of death   Mar 6, 2006

Pessimist: We live but to die,
To rot in body & soul.
Left to solemnly lie
Heaven nor Hell pay toll.

Optimist: Nae, we die but to live
To fly with every being & soul
Through memories to relive
With Heaven\'s promise made whole

Pessimist: With sorrow day & night,
And a strain in every breath,
Why should we even fight
If only for death?

Optimist: We\'ve sorrows to begin
But joy yet to see.
We\'ve love & hope within,
If only set it free.

Pessimist: Your speech of these, of joy,
My unfamiliar notions...
You\'ve but a mear story
With untold emotions.

Optimist: To these you are blind,
You choose not to see.
You must look to find
Where endless joy be.

Pessimist: Speak not of mine
For closed are your eyes.
Truth comes with time
And joy revealed as lies.

Optimist: Yours is half gone,
But mine overflowing.
Your life is not done
And God forever knowing.

Pessimist: And what of our fears?
Are we to forget
All of our tears
And everything set?

Optimist: Forget not the past,
Lest we both know.
That it is just that,
Lost in the flow.

Pessimist: Forget not the past
Of which you won\'t speak.
Heaven seen at last...
Or just considered weak.

Optimist: Our future\'s the strength
Not what we\'ve done,
Of this not to speak
Lest we be shunned.
