Hold Your Barrier

by The Wingless   Mar 10, 2006

Holding my hand in the air
I trust myself to the wind
Preparing to cross
The fading horizon

If there's any reason
Why I'm fighting
I can't take flight
Without fearing to lose things

It's sad memories in these arms
Coated with red and black shadows
Heartbeats tell the future

Nobody
Wants to hurt someone else
Some people have rights to protect
And end up resisting themselves
Yet, I'm living now, bearing it all

Places I want to return to
People whom I love
Reasons why I can't
Won't fall into despair

Dreams I've searched for
Are fragile hopes
Trust your own heart
As you take your life in your hand

Anyone and everyone
Hides pain in their heart
Protect what you must
Fight what you need
Hold your barrier.

Hmm.. this poem speaks the truth. We are in control of everything, our dreams and fears and hopes. We do need to protect what we must, or more importantly, who we must. Good poem, I enjoyed it :)
