My Portrait

When you look at a portrait of me
what do you see
I don't believe it's hope you'll find
More likely some one who wants to run and hide

When you look at me
what do you see?
what do you see?

Through my eyes you see to my core
I think it would look like many of yours
A place full of pain and shame
A place where it always rains
Would you be able to see my loss?
Would you see my soul covered in frost?
Would you even care?
Or would you leave me dying there?

Would any one try to save me?
Or would you all just let me freeze?

Few would come to my aid
Many would offer me a blade
Fewer still would offer me a hand
To pull me from this dark land

When you look at this portrait of me
Would you care at all?
...or would you let me fall?

    Very deep. a great poem indeed. i used to feel this way, but i finally found someone that caught me as I was falling... and i know someone will catch you too. don't give up on life, you just never know what it has reserved for you. stay strong and take care,

    Great poem cody..
    i cant tell you wat i see because ..well..i cant see your eyes..but i know exactly what you are referring to.
    This poem reminds me of my poem "What Do You See"..i recognise the same feelings of emptiness and utter loss.
    One thing i can assure you..i wont let you fall..
