Tears of the Rain

I constantly wonder
Why I walk in the rain
The deep coolness of water
Collides with my pain

My senses go numb
And my skin gives off a glow
An intense heat burns inside
Its a feeling that I know

Cold feelings, a hot fever
Turbulent in my mind
Writhing bits of my humanity
Are left behind

The storm inside me
Is brewing at its worst
Ever since he left me alone
All I've been is cursed

Clouds in my soul
Rumble with pain and fear
They are black and heavy
And I wish they'd disappear

Then the tears come
Pounding and screaming
Reality is a thunderclap
And I wish I was dreaming

Lightning pierces my heart
Shreds it into a bloody mess
It can no longer be something
One can hold and caress

You used to wave my storms away
And hold me ever so tight
But now you're forever gone
Nothing seems so right

My days were sunny and bright
Grasses were green and I felt bliss
You were my first ever love
You're all I'm going to ever miss
