Solitary Rose

by Erin   Jan 23, 2004

The Rose has wilted.
The last petal is about to fall.
My solitary rose is dying, along with whats left of my soul.
It has darkened over time, from the loneliness it has endured.
Its tears won't quench the thirst; the light won't shine on her.
She has been neglected all her life;
left alone to face the dark.
She's tried to fight it for so long,
but now she fades to black.
She has been torn from her happiness,
by the one she once adored,
so she is left alone,
to live on in the night.
Nothing can lift the pain,
not even death itself.
Her glass heart won't stop breaking,
something even God can't mend.
The Rose has wilted.
The last petal has begun to fall,
as the petal hits the floor,
my last breath is now taken.
