Yellow of a Sunflower

by Trisha   Mar 16, 2006

Does the yellow of a sunflower ever make you cry?
Like when you have wings but know you'll never fly
Drowning in clay like all your semi solid fears
Your only real substance is your own wasted tears
Blood and water swirl in a soft pink
Like your childish innoncence which you watch sink
A dark stormy sky is the most beautiful thing you've seen
Rain on your skin makes you feel all that's in between
The fast release of energy and the familiar empty insanity
That comes when you fall human but come back without humanity
You open your eyes to find your heart still beating
Life's a cruel game at which there is no winning or cheating
Candy pink of blood and water to an angry red
And your whole body, soul, bleeding like it's never bled
Youre hot and cold and everything rotts black
You cant say goodnight because you're not coming back
Feel a pulse and the world settles around you
Mothers cry as all they love is broken through
No one can feel that it's all really fake
We all know the thread holding us together will surely break
Our minds are slipping away while we try to make them stay
It's a pointless struggle we lose more with every day
