A World of DUI

by Poetvoices   Mar 19, 2006

No one to tell this to
completely alone
only source of trust
permanently gone
Didn't imagine this
when I was on the phone
now my ending
set in stone

Some would ask, "Why me?"
I keep my mouth shut
won't even attempt
to emerge from this rut
stutter to myself
"I-I, W-wh-what?"
nothing real comes out
"I don't, b-b-but..."

To others I may seem
only depressed,
but I keep my anger
mostly repressed
If there's one thing in this world
that I detest,
it's drunk drivers that get away
with a scalding at best.

Excellent poem!!!!!!!!!!!! Your words allow the reader an insight into the pain and frustration of such a tragic loss.
