Treasure

by Strange Angel   Mar 21, 2006

Tangled whispers, lost in a dream,
Are all that is left of you.
And memories like broken glass,
Fading, fading...
Though you're not here,
You're presence lingers;
Like the last of autumn's leaves.
Forever chilled, the winter landscape
Without your sunlight here.
Though through it all I hear your laughter
On the careless call of wind.
Another summer's sun is fading
And all's but lost and gone,
Lonely tears, fill dark disturbing days
That pass with the hollow years.
And after time has long forgotten
Your crumpled, ageing beauty,
I'll find that undisturbed solemnity
And the figurine of glass,
I'll collect the pieces in a silken scrap
And treasure them like hope.
