A TWISTED VIEW*

by Meggie33   Mar 22, 2006

A broken heart, a twisted view,
this is all they say I got out of you.

I see things a different way than them,
I see a rose, all they see is the stem.

They hear the words you told, and the things you said,
but they don\\\'t know the lesson you taught me, inside my head.

They see how you hurt me, they don\\\'t see how you helped,
they knew how meanly our mouths hollared, but not how lovingly my heart yelped.

They understand what you took, but not what you taught,
they don\\\'t understand how we laughed, only how we fought.

They know about all the fights, but not about the fun we had,
they don\\\'t know how you made me happy, only how you made me sad.

They know how you swore, and hung up the phone,
but they don\\\'t know how nice you were when we were all alone.

They knew how rude you were when you were mad,
but not how sweet you were when you were glad.
