Flying

by David   Mar 23, 2006

Run run as fast as you cant
You cant catch me Im Mike
I sprint at the speed of my heart
Pumping broken glass through the blue and red
Track marks of life under my skin
I run faster than I run from my problems
Faster than I run from myself and my life
When I need to
But when I want to
Thats when I fly
And I dont even mean to
I just keep pounding the cyclical right left
Right left pattern into and through
The cracks in the pavement
Trying to escape the shackles of
Physics, space and time
But I get stuck
Like everyone
In the grime and dirt left by the apathy
Of big businesss dress shoes
Shedding the ashes of the lives they\'ve stamped out
Like the end of an addiction
And yet I keep flying
Flying away from the sun just to spite they
And like I said, I never meant to soar
It just kind of happened
I woke up one day and spread out my words
Finding my feet off the ground
Released form the pain of gravity
And the weight of every ones world I carried
I had my workout, and so now is my time to rest
Or so I thought
But it turns out
That flying is hard work too.
