The Accused/Compass Rose

by Aidyn   Mar 25, 2006

This was not your time
This was not your place
This was not your end
Be careful where you face

---

Long have you walked
And you are weary
Go and rest
For winter's dreary

Rise and falter,
Hero born
Take no burden
Heed no scorn

The dawn awaits
But should it linger
Take no notice
Of the singer

Go and rest
But take my warn
Should I hear
Of anger's thorns,

That of your will
You do deceive
You'll find that rest
Shall take its leave

---

This was not your time
This was not your place
This was not your end
Be careful where you face

In conscious end comes warning.
Two sides of a coin--take heed,
For what you say this morning
May by nightfall have no lead.

This was a piece so subtly sad that i can't actually pinpoint what makes it melancholic. the structure is very nicely set up and that final verse was the perfect way to wrap up these cryptic ideas you've got going here... *mutters* 'two sides of a coin' *grumble* genius
