Another Pawn in this Game called Love

by Monique   Mar 26, 2006

I cry in the silence of the night,
The night that once seemed so beautiful
Now fills every inch of my body with spite.

Laying in bed listening to the rain,
Steadily falling on the roof up above
My heart heavy with pain.

Little by little the lonely heart sinks with sorrow,
Given away to so many, with the hope of being loved in return..
But this was not the case.
It was just borrowed for a silly little game
In an instant my beating heart was ripped out of me.

Now, I lay here with a broken heart,
Pillow drenched with lonely tears
Not knowing when this pain will depart.

Not knowing why..
Having little knowledge of what just happened.
Having no chance for a final goodbye.

The one you thought loved you..
Deceived you, played you for a pawn in his childish game.
The rules for this game nobody knew.
