Plastic

by David   Mar 26, 2006

Eminent is the arrival of
Plastic
And her take over of the human soul
She has come to annihilate the
Sense of self and to
Asphyxiate the people with
Homogenized, genocidal lunacy
And as of thus far, she is winning the war
The first thing a young girl receives is
A flawless diamond of cold hard
Expectation
So she learns that a four inch waist
And a 44 inch bust are
What she needs to be perfect
Because of course, since the plastic is not flawed
Neither is the concept, says the logic of a childs reasoning
And that was phase one of her plan
For takeover
You see, she knows how to wage this war
Because she has been losing it for so long
Hard work, Iron will, fortitudes of steel, and
Golden strands of self respect, kept her at bay
So long, she had to find new ways
To fight and prevail
Like, Oh I dont know
Brainwashing the youth of America
Before they can learn moral values
And the fact that every single body,
Even ones that look like this
Are as beautiful, individual, and awe inspiring
As a snowflake.
But she operates like a terrorist network
Creating cells in the form of
TOYS R US
And she assails the minds and hearts
Of young warrior queens with
Promises of fulfillment, if you
Never fill your stomach.
But even she knew that she was too surreal
So she got smart, and rationalized
She became Doctor Barbie
And Flight Attendant Barbie
And service with a smile, which is pretty much
All I have now, because my skin is
Stretched so tight, that the white bones of
My teeth, are not the only ones that jut out
So hang on just a minute sir
While I go into the lavatory
Throw up the lunch I never ate
And pretend that I know who I am BARBIE
And all this from plastic
The real issue here, is not that she is shocking these minds
Into submission
But that she knows that she is doing it
And in the process destroying young Valkyrie princesses
Of the tomboy age
Anything that can do that, has no remorse
And without remorse, they will never stop.
So until we discover a way
To teach these women
That no matter how much
Plastic
Some one else is made of or not, they are still
Gorgeous
And that happiness
Comes from the greatest lack of plastic attainable
But to do that, well have to play
Her game
And win.
Today, I started the war.
I walked into my little sisters room
To see her huddled up on the floor
Playing with
Wait on me hand and foot so I can pretend
I have a sense of self before my body collapses
Into the soul vacuum of my innards
Barbie
And I waltzed over to her
Ripped it from her hands
Tore the icon of age and loss of innocence
Limb from limb
And threw the tattered fragments out the window
She just stared at my,
Puzzled by my rage, as if I was the crazy one
I said, Today, youll hate me.
In 17 years, youll understand.
She stormed away from me, on the verge of crocodile tears
Because part of her knew I was right
I went back to the window, satisfied
At the obliteration that couldve befallen my sister
And screamed, \"YOU CANNOT TAKE US ALIVE!
At least, not in my house.
Plastic remained as cold and as silent
As always

    Hell yeah! You said it...
I hate the whole Barbie stereotype, it's absolutely sickening.
There is so much about this poem that I found to be amazing. I'd post the lines, but I'd be reposting most of the poem.
Take care and keep it up~Holly
