Not the way to go

by LittleMissImperfect   Mar 27, 2006

Nothing is that simple,
Nothing is that kind.
There will never be anyone in life
Who won't leave you behind.

Friends are not always there for you
Family will not always care
Even your inner self
Will wish that you weren't there.

You will learn to hate yourself
You will learn to wish.
You will learn that no one ever
Finds true inner bliss.

So run the blade along your arm
Do it if you want.
But do you know what it takes
To take away the taunts?

We hear so many phrases
Like Emo, Goth and Chav
But there is one thing
That all teenagers have.

They have the ability to survive
To work through all the pain
And at the end of the day
Are we not all the same?

Are we not all trying
To find the happiness we seek?
To have good friends who love and care
And will help us when we're weak?

Cutting is not the way to go
Believe me when I say
It will only cause more problems
You won't beat them that way

Stand up to those people
And tell them they're wrong
At the end of the day
You're right where you belong.

I have been in your shoes
I cut my arms, slit my wrists
I have been hated too
But this was not the way I won
With my words I defeated you.
