The Lord and the Devil

by aga   Mar 28, 2006

Far away in some recess,
the Lord and the Devil are out playing chess,
The Devil winning more souls,
As for completing his goals.
As for the Lord,
He's just doing his best on board.
As another person dies,
the Devil gets a smirk and opens his eyes,
"This time we will play poker" said the Devil with a smile,
"This is for the souls far away in a mile"added the Devil.
The Lord agreed,
no matter what he will complete his deed.
The Lord and the Devil had their cards,
Now the Lord must stay on his guard.
The Lord was running for a straight,
all he needed was an eight.
So the Lord called for another card,
but this time he didnt make it.
The Devil said a a speech in a place,
and under his cloak he slipped another ace!
First their were 12,000 souls,
sure went up to 59,000.
But the Lord never seen what the Devil had did,
and he did not forbid.
As the Devil was winning the rest,
The Lord was doing his best!
