Stitch A Memory

by Twisted Heart   Mar 30, 2006

Into the night, I sit and stare
And slowly sway my rocking chair
My sewing sets upon my lap,
As I go back into the past.

A rainy day, a special place
A tender kiss upon my face,
For just a moment, it is clear
Summer days of yesteryear.

A fondness grows inside of me
Thoughts just bursting to be free
A time of laughter, I recall
But then it isn't there at all.

I hold my work in withered arms
Knowing it will keep me warm
And once again, I start to knit
A memory in every stitch.

This poem definitely deserves 5/5! The rhyme scheme pulls the whole poem, its warmth, and its love together. Its happy and sad at the same time- i love that. The last line is so amazing as well! Keep up the great work!
