My Sonnet on Shallowness

by May   Apr 1, 2006

Eyes that are a thousand skies
eyes that reflect the mind
oh the eyes, they are so wise!
windows to the soul I cannot find.

Something in the face
an essence of the name
a nature I cannot place
never-changing; a face always the same.

Beauty in the body
the movement is alerting
the purpose is so shoddy
millions of people are left hurting.

The name comes to mind
when pondering people vain
the name- shallow love, refined.
many unwarned are in such pain.
keep away if it's the last you do,
stay far and search for love true.
