The Price Payed for My Scarred Heart

by sierra   Apr 4, 2006

You did this to me
All your broken promises
'I promise baby. I promise we'll go'
All your lies
'I love you. I'll take care of you'
You weren't there
You left us to fend for ourselves
Said you'd be there no matter what
I believed you every single time
How gullible of me
Even when I knew you wouldn't come through
I gave you the benefit of a doubt every time
I try not to let you get to me but her face is a constant reminder
You only pop up every once in a blue moon
When you do come around, all I feel is rage and sorrow
Yet I suppress it and put on a smile
I refuse to shed another tear for you
Curse you for everyday she shed a tear
You're not worth the pain
I don't want to feel this pain again
So I seal up my heart in concrete, blocking out all those who wish to come in
I can't let anyone in until I've fixed what you've broken
Even if my heart can be mended, it will still show the wounds you left
Every man I come in contact with will thank you for my lack of tenderness
Because of you, I will carry this burden with me forever
Thanks Alot!
