Broken (II)

by Ruthie   Apr 8, 2006

Slowly he wakes
Before day breaks
In a strange room
Full of Grey gloom

A hand on his chest
His heart full of rest
His chests rise and fall
As he hears a call

Awake at last
His fate cast
Smiles at his mother
Father and brother

His new heart beats
A gift from the streets
A poor girl who lost
Her soul at a cost

But Thanks to her saved
And his dream that he craved
He drifts off to sleep
His life to keep

She kneels by the grave
Being oh so brave
She gave away
Her heart today

She knows her too well
Knows why she fell
Her own blood
Her tears like a flood

In the mirror only one face
Her heart starts to race
Now she'll always be
Alone in this sea

A hand on her shoulder
She turns her heart colder
Her sisters heart there
Why isn't life fair

Why'd it make her pay
And give her heart away
Just so he could live
It was too much to give

From his eyes
Tears fall as he crys
I wish that I'd died
That she hadn't died."

Strangers by a grave
Each others tears save
Each other a token
Of a heart that is broken
