Invisible Barriers

How can I break my eyes from their enchantment?
I know no longer what curse is upon them
For though I see as others see you
I can see deeper, further than their minds will allow

Even as the drum beats and the march goes on
My feet defy all reason and carry me to your side
They glare their evil smiles
They wait the reason to lash me, flaw me

Why and how are they so blind to what is before them?
Why must time be so cruel to us?
But I see as they see, yet deeper
I understand why they must fear us

But why should they be afraid of the different?
And why should I be so drawn to it?
How is it I see so much more in you?
I see more than you can see yourself

I am constantly stood facing a wall of soldiers
They're armed to the teeth, and their shields strong
And yet it is as if I see through them and I know that you're there
These people are all that stands in our way

So few and they restrain us; they chain us in their doubt
And they're drowning in their fear, and I'm sinking too
Do you see as I see, so much deeper, further than they?
Do you understand more than hatred?

Blind hatred
Love can be blind too
But I see all in you so it can't be all bad
How could be when you're the only thing that makes me smile?
You're all that keeps my mind mine so I know that I love you
