Unknown Sin

by enfant du tordu chagrin   Apr 16, 2006

Slice off my ears, gouge out my eyes
So I can't see or hear these lies
My mind is lost, alone, confused
And my will feels so abused
My heart is dead, slowly crumbles
My life path's full of slips and stumbles
So cold without, much worse within
What was my crime? what was my sin?

This was a pretty good poem to me, it didn't make me go WOW, but it was definately good. I am a harsh judge, so sorry if I sound too mean. I define really great poetry as poems that are strong enough to change my emotional state and make me feel something else, and I often reserve my 5 for those poems. The first part of the poem with the use of slice and gouge was done well.
