It took seeing me happy
to realize your mistake
and watching me smile
was all you could take

One heart too real,

yet you were so easy to break

There I stood, in the open
with my heart stitched to my sleeve

But I'd asked for too much
so you took it away
There was no more trying

All of the small things,
