A Vanished Friend

I guess our friendship is over,
It's been over for quite a while.
I had just refused to accept,
Accept the fact that you left,
And abandoned our friendship.

I thought we had something special,
A friendship that would last forever.
Someone that would always be there,
Especially when I needed them,
To just tell me it would all be okay.

You ran from a familiar territory,
Stayed away because of memories.
When you left, you said you'd be back,
But after your first visit home,
I knew the memories just haunted you.

You couldn't handle thinking of him.
Everything reminded you of him.
Seeing his brother was like seeing a ghost.
You visited his grave every free chance you had,
You couldn't move on with your life.

We became friends after his death.
I was there for you when you needed me.
Then you moved away and,
Found someone else to fill that hole
The hole you had in your heart.

I guess it is really over,
I can't rely on you anymore.
The wonderful friendship we once had,
Is now in the past and,
I've decided to accept the loss.
