All he did..was walk away

*Long, but please read all the way through.*

Once upon a time,
there lived a little girl,
a secret that she held,
one she could never tell.
Daddy was her boss,
For he's the reason she lives,
She followed him around,
and gathered all his needs.
Sometimes when he's too drunk,
She'll sit in the corner and cry,
She'll pray that daddy would change,
That he'd never get his way.
Teachers wonder, and they've tried to ask.
But she just pushes them away,
wanting to break free at last.
Daddy slaps her around,
and touches her everyday,
she'll lay there in silence,
then cry herself to sleep,
ever since mommy left,
her daddy was just too mean.
After one last beating,
and before the last rape,
She tied a rope around her neck,
and held onto a messy note,
but before daddy found her,
She stepped off of the chair,
only to let her daddy,
stare at her in despair.
And when he finally found her,
He grabbed the crumbled note,
silently he read the words,
she left unspoken:
"Daddy I used to love you,
when you held me tight,
but then something happened,
you'd leave me left with fright."
When he understood,
the threw the note away,
but that saddest part was,
All he did was walk away.

*Not about me..the movie "For the love of a child" inspired me..
