Imaginary Confidant [funeral for a friend]

by Twisted Heart   Apr 18, 2006

She was my friend
My constant when things around me changed
She never left, she was always there
Through all my loses and my gains.

She was forever true
For so long we didn't have a care
But then... When... I don't remember
Somehow I lost her somewhere.

A long time passed
Many years without a word
I happened by chance to see
a glance of her within my world.

She had changed
A man had broke her down
Bruised her, crippled her existence
Just a shadow of her was all I found.

So I picked her up
I quietly placed her in a box
And buried her with my hopes and dreams
and other things that time forgot.

Beautifully conveyed! Such a heartbreaking and sentimental piece. I have to say I liked the old title better....
