You

by S R P   Apr 19, 2006

You may see me as a child,
a lost and wandering soul,
but I used to be so wild,
so completely out of control.

Your eyes burn into me,
like fire through the rain,
a lost cause,
finally saved from the pain.

Your face haunts my dreams,
they once were so dreary,
naught but my screams.

Your smile warms my heart,
once so cold and broken,
now whole and unspoken.

Your voice fills my soul,
the river runs deep,
a field without an end,
a journey without a keep.
