Withering

by S R P   Jul 28, 2007

Moments stand still inside my mind
Thoughts are reckless, interwined.
Staring into time to see what is lost
I have tried until my efforts exhaust.

Rhythmic beating sounds my heart
Signifying that all has not fallen apart.
Teardrops trace this beaten path
Abating hatred turning towards wrath.

Cold hands shaking, the final sign
Into felicity I peer, in death I resign.
No submitting though the battle is lost
How much will the next detriment cost?

Worthless battles left me distraught
This is the light I have wrought.
Fighting until my strength is gone
Mind too broken, so withdrawn.

Forgive me, my life is naught.
Forgive me, this time I've fought.
Forgive me, for death I resign
Forgive me.. One last time.
