Foxhole Friends

Written 4/19

I met a differnt kinda teacher
Just the other day
It wasn`t what he does
But also what he says

His name won`t be mentioned
Because he`s just like you and me
He treats us like we`re adults
And he values our opinions equally

He taught us about friendships
And how to feel inside
To bear our emotions to a special few
And how we just shouldn`t hide

He told us some stories
Written from the heart
I knew I could respect this man
Right from the very start

With talk and a little humor
He taught us lessons in life
On friendship and relationships
How to deal through the strife

With his kind words and actions
He told us exactly what to do
To make our bonds stronger
And keep our friendships true

That man has taught me a lot
In such a short amount of time
His words have touched my heart and soul
They also penetrate my mind

He really doesn`t know
How much I appreciate it
How, truly, his words mean to me
And now I know not to quit

To build and improve
On my friendships, big and small
So my gratitue goes to him
I`ll always appreciate it all

*Dedicated to a new and special teacher of mine who has helped me understand myself so much more in about a day than I could`ve in a long while. He has taught me, along with others like me, I`m sure, how to have and be a true friend. Thanks so much, you know who you are!!
