Look to the sky

by master of shadow   Apr 22, 2006

Look to the stars
Against a jet black sky,
Praying the sun shall never rise
That there shall never be another day.
The burning points in the air
The only light upon the world,
Gently glowing upon us all.
But soon the sun shall shine
The bright unfeeling light,
That creates a new day
A new day in hell
A new day upon the Earth.
The darkness surrounds us
Wrapping us in a dark cloak
Saving us from the coming strife,
Until the sun shall rise,
Bathing the world in a golden light
Turning the sky a blood red
And starting the pain again.

I like how you used some personification:

"A new day upon the Earth.
    The darkness surrounds us
Wrapping us in a dark cloak"

I thought that was a good one. This is a good poem and I can tell you worked hard on it. :)
