Let's wish us away

by Lucy Loves Not   Apr 24, 2006

We laughed at all the
silly fatalities,
pursuing a lifestyle of
ignorant wishing and forgetting-
because nothing shines brighter than
broken hearted memories.
shards of glass feel
like malnourished breathing;
pain brings familiarity.
i will never forget the woes-
aiming at the stars
on the battlefront;
birthing death in subliminal masses
and never feeling so alone.

i regret praying for reprieve
instead of redemption.
