Memory

Memory

Memory once trapped, starts to unfold.
I understand then, it's me that it holds.
Engulfed in its fingers, consumed is my soul,
I'm slave to the thoughts not in my control.
Rewind and fastforward, replay in my head.
Show me again, where path had me led.
When memory's image is so wonderfully light,
it's grasp still as angry, as cold winter's night.
A field where freedom remains to be seen,
I look to the grasses no longer green.
It's poisoned reality where dreams won't come true,
Because all I remember is infected with you.
