Own To Find

by MemoirsOfMe   Apr 29, 2006

I'm tired of fighting against you
All my efforts are going to waste
I can't give my strength to something
I do not even want to chase.

I cannot explain what is inside me
It's like a vault that only I can reveal
I only want to open up to everyone
But it is only my life to conceal.

Dreams are a long lost thoughts
I do not even cease to think
I sit and zone out of my life
Watching it slowly and slowly shrink.

There is no way out, it seems,
I'm stuck inside this box forever
Keep me in here and save yourself
Just go away and donâ??t bother.

Everyone asks me questions
I can't help but turn away
All they want to know
Is if I'm okay

"I'm fine," I answer quietly
A million doubts inside my mind
I cannot let them down one bit
For them it is their own to find.

This poem, for me at least was much better than the last one, the rhyming was much more easy and gave the poem a really nice flow. The ideas and emotions come across really strongly in this poem, great write. Like I said, I try to offer improvements, but really I can't pick any fault in this, brilliant stuff. 5/5 x

This was my favorite part of the poem:

    Everyone asks me questions
I can't help but turn away
    All they want to know
    Is if I'm okay

    "I'm fine," I answer quietly
A million doubts inside my mind
I cannot let them down one bit
For them it is their own to find.

Excellent hunn...* ^^ I like that part because I can REALLY relate to it. I feel that way constantly. Just seems like no one understands.
