Circles

by sweetiepie18   Apr 30, 2006

Patterns repeat themselves, round and round in circles I go, holding on tight to afraid to let go. There's no one there to catch me if I fall, just a cold, damp, lonely old wall.

Smack! I slide down,
Thump! as my head hits the ground,
there was no one there to catch me when I fell.

Constant criticism means I can't get up, there's no strength left to carry on, any confidence I used to have is now totally gone.

The other side of the wall seems so far away, but regardless I get up and try anyway.

Smack! I slide down,
Thump! as my head hits the ground,
There's still no one there to stop me from falling.

Patterns repeat themselves, round and round in circles I go, holding on tight, too afraid to let go,
There's no one there to catch me when I fall,
just that cold, damp, lonely old wall.

I can't sleep and night and I can't win this fight, but again I'll get up and try,

Smack! I slide down,
Thump! as my head hits the ground,
still no one there to catch me when I fall.

Patterns repeat themselves, round and round in circles I go, holding on tight, too afraid to let go,
There's no one there to catch me when I fall,
just that cold, damp, lonely old wall.

I'm trapped on this ride, hanging on for dear life, but is it really worth it?
my head is battered and bruised from banging against this brick wall,
and each time I try to get up I just seem to fall.

So Patterns repeat themselves, round and round in circles I go, holding on tight to afraid to let go. There's no one there to catch me when I fall, just a cold, damp, lonely old wall.
