Breathe

Band-aids don't heal the wound
All they can do is cover.
Just as my mask won't make you stay,
but hide the hurt of losing another.

And my lungs wont fill anymore
And the knocking hasn't touched on my door.
Am I forgotten or just alone?
Because I'm lying here and can't breathe on my own...

Your arms aren't the pillows I sleep with tonight,
Your memory has left me an ugly sight.
You're not there when you're all I need,
You're no longer here, to teach me to breathe.

It's a mansion without a pillar to stand;
Collapsed to rubble with the touch of my hand.
I didn't want to leave you, the wings have been torn
A fragile butterfly dead from our form.

Your arms aren't the pillows I sleep with tonight,
Your memory has left me an ugly sight.
You're not there when you're all I need,
You're no longer here, to teach me to breathe.

Band-aids don't heal the wound
All they can do is cover.
Just as my mask won't make you stay,
but hide the hurt of losing another.

Am I forgotten or just alone?
Because I'm lying here and can't breathe on my own...
